This show is a symbol for me because it is the very first time that I am bringing the students of the Special Class from the Peparini Academy with me to form the cast of 30 dancers who take turns performing the show.
Accepting to create this show was, above all, an opportunity to build a strong bond with these students, to pay tribute to them, and to acknowledge the work they do every day with passion and dedication.
Performing on stage, just like learning within our Academy, represents a certain idea of happiness for me. I have one great fear: that school may one day come to an end, that people might believe they already know everything, and that there would no longer be any adventure, any unknown territories left to explore. But the performing arts prove the opposite to us every single day: they are mysterious continents, always to be rediscovered and reimagined.
Diving back into Alexandre Dumas’ work means striving to understand how to serve his masterpiece while respecting its message and his vision of his time, yet transposing it and making it accessible to the 21st century through the songs and artists that bring this show to life. It is an ambitious but essential challenge.
Dumas’ work is timeless. Just like great songs, true melodies never die. Only the rhythm changes.
One for all and all for one
